Pre·sence
Emotional companionship

Care that comes
home with you.

Pre·sence is a series of digital emotional-companionship workshops for the tender season after treatment — a human extension of care, from the clinic to your home. For those living with illness, and for the families and caregivers who hold them.

“So that no one ever feels invisible inside a healthcare system again.”

Soft morning light through a window
The philosophy

In the center, presence.
Around it, everything that holds us.

Pre·sence was born from a simple, hard-won conviction: every human being needs to be seen and cared for. It grew from a life lived as a caregiver, as a patient through six hospital stays, and across two decades inside hospitals — and from one question that kept returning: what does a person really need to feel accompanied when life changes forever?

01

See

How do we teach ourselves to truly look?

02

Understand

How do we begin to listen to stories that usually stay unseen?

03

Hold

How do we build real communities of care?

04

Be Held

How do we learn that receiving help is also part of being human?

The method

The PRESENCE method

Every module moves through the same gentle arc — the emotional, therapeutic backbone of the whole program. It is not a technique to master. It is a way of staying with yourself.

P
Pause
Before understanding or fixing anything, we slow down and breathe.
R
Recognize
We name what we feel — fear, sadness, anger, love — without judgment.
E
Embrace
We listen to the body, the emotion, the need, and the loved one.
S
Sustain
We learn to hold without carrying it all, and without doing it perfectly.
E
Express
We give voice to the unspoken: gratitude, fear, forgiveness, love.
N
Nourish
We care for the one who cares — rest, limits, tenderness, breath.
C
Connect
We return to the bond, to presence, to what truly matters.
E
Evolve
We integrate what we have lived and take the next possible step.
What we grow

The Fruits of Pre·sence

Seven values that guide how we show up — each one a question we keep asking ourselves.

Compassion
How does a conversation change when the other person stops feeling judged and begins to feel seen?
Serene hope
What is still possible here, even if today I can't fully see it?
Brave tenderness
What would love do if fear weren't making this decision?
Beauty
What is still beautiful, even in the middle of this moment?
Coherence
Does what I'm living today truly reflect the person I wish to become?
Love that organizes
How can I turn this love I feel into something concrete that gives structure and holds others?
Presence
What part of this moment is inviting me to be truly here — unhurried, without judgment, with all of my being?
Two paths, one presence

Choose the companion that fits your season.

Both programs are meant for the return home — a gentle place to breathe once the clinic is behind you. Each holds seven modules, guided by a warm companion named Luz.

Our culture

Care, as a way of living

Pre·sence is the daily decision to turn care into a way of living. In everything we do, we choose:

See before interpreting.

Every person deserves to be known before being judged.

Understand before responding.

Behind every reaction there is usually a story.

Listen before advising.

Many people first need to feel understood.

Ask before assuming.

Loving curiosity opens paths that hurried certainty tends to close.

Stay before hurrying.

Not everything needs to be resolved right away.

Honor the body's rhythm.

Rest, too, is a form of wisdom.

Celebrate everyday beauty.

Hope is also cultivated by a tree, a cup of tea, a conversation, the song of a bird.

Organize love so it reaches further.

Love needs structure when it seeks to hold lives.

The deepest act of love is to protect the space where another human being can meet themselves.

Who walks with you

Karla Osiris González Díaz

Founder of Pre·sence · administrator & social activist

I believe deeply that no one should have to move through suffering feeling invisible. Across my life I have found that when someone feels truly seen, heard, and accompanied, something begins to transform within them — not because the pain disappears at once, but because they no longer walk it alone. That conviction gave rise to Pre·sence.

My name is Karla Osiris González Díaz. I am an administrator, a social activist, and the founder of Karlas Sembradoras de Amor A.C., dedicated to the prevention, healing, and accompaniment of people who have survived sexual violence. For more than fifteen years I have walked alongside patients, families, and healthcare teams, joining my experience in organizational management with a deep calling to humanize care.

My own path taught me that answers are not always what we most need; often, what truly transforms us is finding a space where we can pause, breathe, and listen to ourselves again. Pre·sence is born from that experience — a philosophy of human accompaniment that helps people meet themselves again and discover that love, too, can become a natural way of inhabiting life. Here we do not walk ahead of people; we walk beside them, honoring the rhythm, the story, and the dignity of every human being.

Within you there still lives an immense capacity to love, heal, grow, and inhabit your life again with hope.

A note of care

This program was created as an emotional and educational companion. It does not replace professional medical, psychological, psychiatric, or grief-counseling care. If at any point the emotional pain feels like too much, if you have thoughts of harming yourself, or if you need urgent support, please seek immediate professional help or reach out to someone you trust. You can pause any exercise and return to it only when you feel ready.
